A New Jersey family was in for an extraordinary sight one hot summer morning.

The Basso family from Rockaway Township was shocked to find a black bear family happily splashing around in their backyard pool! We’re so glad the Bassos got this entire visual treat on camera.

In this clip shared by the family, we see the mama bear and her 5 cubs totally enjoying the refreshing pool and other play accessories lying around in the backyard. So while some of the bear cubs wrestle each other in the pool, the rest get busy working out the family’s swing and slide set.

As for the mama bear, she nonchalantly oversees her kids while lounging in the cool rejuvenating water!

We love how each member of the Basso family had their own unique perspective of the bear visit in the background conversation. Their little kid was thrilled at first but later got pretty stressed about the bear cubs “stealing” her floaties. Dad seemed equally bummed upon realizing that the bears were probably poking holes in the pool.

However, Mom was surely having a blast witnessing the rare bear adventure unfolding in front of her eyes.

Despite the overall wholesomeness of the bear family’s fun pool party, there is a moment that causes the Bassos to panic. The mama bear grabs the pool’s plugged-in electric pump and starts fiddling around with it, even bringing it in contact with the water.

Judy Obregon, the founder of a dog rescue organization called The Abandoned Ones, received a call about a stray Poodle-mix she had been trying to save. But as soon as she saw the photograph of the dog on the ground, she knew it was too late. He had already vanished. Obregon got a call earlier about local kids tormenting the dog.

 

“Kids were throwing food out on the street, so the dog would run out onto the street,” Obregon told The Dodo. “Then neighbors saw some children tying a water hose around his neck.”

In the end, though, she couldn’t find him. She went back to the neighborhood three times in order to try and trap him but with no success. Then, after receiving the photo from the woman who had reported the dog to her in the first place, it shattered her heart. If only she’d been able to capture him sooner.

“I started crying because I felt like I didn’t do enough,” Obregon said. “I felt like I wasn’t there on time to get to this dog before he ended up in this situation.”

 

However, the dog didn’t deserve to be left there like that, so Obregon ran to him. When she arrived, the most incredible and unanticipated thing occurred.

“When I came to him, he was still in the same spot, but his head was up,” Obregon said. “I was probably the happiest person in the world.”

 

Gully was discovered by Obregon, who named him Gully. She was certain that if she didn’t arrive soon, he wouldn’t have survived. Gully was undernourished and dehydrated when found. He couldn’t walk because he was so weak. He was understandably frightened as well. Gully, on the other hand, seemed to calm down once he was inside Obregon’s vehicle. He realized that he had been rescued.

 

“He started giving me kisses,” Obregon said.

After a few days at the vet, Gully made a full recovery. Obregon’s friend, Crystal, took him in as a foster while they searched for a forever home for the deserving pup.

Gully’s transition from street dog to loved pet was astonishing. Everyone who met him was astonished that he had so quickly put his former lives behind him and trusted people right away. Then Obregon got the good news: Gully had been adopted.

 

He now has the ideal livelihood and will never have to worry about being hungry or chilly again. He’ll never be maltreated. The “dead” dog was very much alive—and faring well!

A fearful dog named Buddy was abandoned, where people often dump their unwanted pets. It took a dedicated rescuer two long months to finally get ahold of the pup and bring him to meet Lee, who runs The Asher House. If Lee could get the unruly dog to finally settle down, Buddy would have a chance at a new life.

As Lee and Buddy came eye-to-eye, the dog barked loudly. He pulled away, wanting nothing to do with the man who could give him a new home at a beautiful sanctuary. Lee took hold of Buddy’s leash and soothingly shushed him. Buddy wasn’t sure what to do. But as the dog watched the calm and relaxed seasoned dog lover let his guard down, he knew he could let his guard down too.

Finally, Buddy allowed Lee to embrace him and the onlooker filming the interaction was in awe. It was time to bring Buddy to his new home at The Asher House! Upon arriving at the sanctuary, Buddy was understandably nervous and unsure of his new surroundings. He barked and displayed signs of anxiety upon meeting the pack, but Lee did not judge him for his behavior. Instead, he understood that Buddy was about to enter a new environment and that it would take time for him to adjust.

Lee expressed his trust in the process of introducing Buddy to his new pack, “I can feel it, I know it, I trust it. I trust him. He’s my Buddy.” This trust and patience would prove to be essential in helping Buddy adapt to his new home with his new friends.

Buddy needed to establish boundaries with the other dogs in the pack. Lee explained that the other dogs had to understand that Buddy could speak for himself and was willing to set boundaries. While Lee was prepared to step in if necessary, he understood the importance of letting the dogs communicate and work things out among themselves. As Buddy settled into his new home, he began to feel more comfortable and secure. With the support of his new dad and the companionship of the other dogs, he was able to overcome his initial anxiety and learn to trust again.

This inspiring story serves as a reminder of the resilience of animals and the importance of giving them a second chance. Abandoned and mistreated pets like Buddy deserve the opportunity to find loving homes where they can thrive and live happy, fulfilling lives. In Brisbane, Australia, David and his family were having a fun afternoon with some pals in an open area. Alexander, their 2-year-old son, was supposed to be playing with Leala, the family’s Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

But no one took notice when the youngster vanished from sight. The 9-year-old dog began to tug at David, but the man didn’t think anything was wrong.

When David pointed out that Leala was drenching wet and barking at him, she began to bark even more erratically. The man followed the alarmed dog all the way to the nearest dam, not realizing his son was missing. David’s life was shattered when he first noticed his son’s lifeless body floating face down in the water. After an apparent drowning incident, Alexander wasn’t breathing and Leala had clearly attempted to help him on her own. The father and his pals did CPR on the boy during the next few minutes as a result of which he started breathing again.

Alexander was placed in a coma at the hospital for two days. His vital signs were stable, but he had suffered a significant brain damage. The doctors grew disappointed as hopes diminished and prepared the parents for the worst–that Alexander would die or be severely disabled. After 48 anxious hours in a comatose state, Alexander awoke. As Alexander’s treatment proceeded over the next few months, the medical professionals were astounded by the final outcomes–he not only survived but also fully recovered!

The doctors credit Alexander’s survival to the timely CPR, but David is certain it was all down to his loyal dog. The outcome would have been deadly if the vigilant angel hadn’t alerted him on time. Leala is a real-blue hero and we adore her!

Rowing his boat on a river in Mato Grosso, Brazil, Renato Borella, and his tour guide Neco spotted a black tail thrashing in the water near some marshes. They assumed a dog was drowning and Neco tossed a lifejacket to rescue it.

In the video below, Renato and Neco are watching the creature hold on to his life jacket in an attempt to save himself. That’s when they notice the wet animal’s face and determine that he’s not a dog but rather a monkey from that area. The male monkeys are known to be aggressive and hostile toward humans, but they decide to ignore their concerns in order to assist the monkeys aboard.

As the muscular primate climbs up the vessel, the men tremble in terror at his cold countenance. The monkey, on the other hand, gracefully perches himself on the prow of the boat and simply indicates toward land. The crew understands and steers them in the right direction.

When the boat docks, a monkey grabs a tree limb and vanishes into the woods. The men believe that the monkey was kicked out of his troop, which explains why he was alone and why he attempted to flee. Judy and Cody never imagined they would have a goat living in their house, but when they came across a tiny baby goat named Ducky, they couldn’t resist taking her in. Ducky was too small and needed special care, so the couple decided to make her a part of their family. Little did they know Ducky would grow up to be a spunky, fearless goat who thinks she’s much bigger than she is.

Ducky has become quite the character in her new home, running around in her cute little diaper and causing mischief wherever she goes. She has developed a ‘Napoleon complex,’ and thinks she’s in charge. She even tries to head-butt her much larger canine siblings. Despite her small size, Ducky is not afraid of anything, including the family’s 85-pound dog.

One of Ducky’s most impressive feats is her ability to jump out of her pen and run laps on the top of her stall. She can even jump through doorways, earning her the nickname “crazy Ducky.” Her antics have brought endless entertainment and laughter to her human family. Especially when Judy recorded Ducky trying to go through her dad’s phone when he was asleep.

Ducky’s favorite activity is going paddle boarding with Judy and Cody. The tiny goat loves to join her humans on the water, typically going out two to three times a week. Ducky never hesitated jumping on the paddle board; she saw her humans on it and wanted to be a part of the fun. This adventurous goat has formed a strong bond with her family through their shared love of activities.

Judy and Cody are committed to giving Ducky the best life possible, allowing her to have fun and be a goat while also enjoying the perks of being part of a loving family. Ducky’s unique personality and fearless spirit have made her a beloved member of her household, proving that sometimes, the most unexpected additions to our lives can bring the greatest joy.

It’s no secret that our beloved dogs are the descendants of wolves. But with their friendly, cuddly behavior, and close companionship, we can forget that they’re not so distant from wild animals.

So when a woman named Lucy adamantly claimed that her Husky, named Storm, actually preferred eating a variety of vegetables over a bowl filled with meat, hosts of British talk show “This Morning” decided to put it to the test. 

It was right after a heat wave had hit her area, and her Husky, Storm, was feeling particularly picky, so she decided to switch-up her diet. Lucy’s neighbor, Ben, had recently transitioned his dog from a meat-based to a veggie based diet. He suggested that she may want to try doing the same. 

So, despite not being a vegetarian herself, Lucy started serving Storm a dog food made without meat, and was adding in her family’s leftover veggies as well.

“During the summer months she went off her food, strangely. She seemed to perk up, be a lot happier. She really took to it,” Lucy explained.

Lucy wasn’t the only person who was interviewed during the segment that morning. Veterinarian Scott Miller joined Lucy on the couch, and was asked all about his thoughts regarding a dog being fed a vegetable based diet. 

When interviewed, he said that he respected people who opted to eat a vegetable based diet. But he was keen to remind viewers that not only are dogs omnivores (and that they thrive when fed both meat and vegetables), but that our pets aren’t actually able to make that choice for themselves. 

“It’s a choice… our pets can’t make that choice,” said the vet.

It’s up to us as their caretakers to make an incredibly informed decision, and to make sure that their diet includes all the nutrients they need. 

The Moment Of Truth 

After Lucy explained that she truly believed Storm preferred eating vegetables over meat, show hosts wanted to put it to the test. So they brought out two dog bowls filled to the brim with food. One was filled with vegetables and the other was piled high with meat. 

Much to her owner’s embarrassment, the hungry Husky made a mad dash for the bowl filled with meat. Storm dove-in with gusto, as his mom sat there shocked. 

As you can imagine, viewers had a strong reaction to the seven-minute segment. Comments almost immediately started flooding in, and plenty of people felt inclined to share their thoughts. Reactions ranged from jokes to jabs, with some people calling Lucy’s feeding choice “animal cruelty.”

An airport pickup box with numerous unfinished holes came without proper labeling. The workplace employees ignored the box and carried on with their tasks. Because it didn’t have the correct tags, it would be stowed among other items in the same condition. The container was roughly 16 inches tall and only said that it was to be delivered to Syria.

After a week of waiting in a holding room, the box was improperly labeled. Finally, legal confirmation was received that employees at the airport had the authority to open and examine the contents of the container. What they discovered nearly knocked them off their feet!

Three Siberian tigercats were packed inside the box. Nobody knew how they had survived for so long. However, all three of them clung to life despite the fact that they hadn’t eaten or drunk anything in a week! Animals Lebanon posted on Facebook, “Nothing indicated that the box contained tigers or even live animals, and there were no details of a shipper or receiver,” the animal rights group Animals Lebanon wrote on Facebook.

The three male kittens had been on a flight from Ukraine and were supposed to be sold to a zoo in Syria. Animals Lebanon demanded that the tigers be transferred to them. A court ruled in their favor. “Their paw pads were raw and red from being coated with urine, and they had fresh wounds on their back legs and thighs,”

The Siberian tigers were in desperate need of help. Endangered species are highly valued on the black market. People who seek to profit from their illicit transactions may not consider the animals’ wellbeing.

“They are improving – but they are still at risk! Big cats can be worth tens of thousands of dollars on the black market. The owner is fighting to get them back, and we are fighting for the tigers and rule of law,” Animals Lebanon explained on Facebook.

The zoo opposed the rescue group’s request to return the tigers. Thankfully, a judge once again ruled in favor of the recovery team, allowing all three tigers to remain with them. “Thank you for all of your hard work that made this possible.

There is never an excuse to abandon a pet. If they can’t be cared for, there are humane options to rehome them, yet pet abandonment happens way too often. When Mila, a senior dog, was discovered, she was tied to a burned-down house. It was assumed that she had been there for several weeks. The elderly pup was extremely skinny. The saddest part of her story is that she could have easily slipped out of her loose collar, but she was so obedient that she stayed put, waiting for someone to return for her. Fortunately, a Good Samaritan happened to pass by and rescue Mila. The rescuer then brought her home.

After staying with the Good Samaritan’s family for a week or two, Mila was handed over to a local senior rescue worker named Tiffany, who wanted to help her. When she arrived, she was estimated to be around 14 or 15 years old and was so fragile that she had to be carried out of the van. Despite her condition, Mila was immediately a sweetheart, eager to live and be loved.

To ensure Mila’s health, she was placed in quarantine for a few weeks in a separate part of the house. Initially, she was timid and kept to herself, but as she began to feel better, she started to come out of her shell. Mila found comfort in the company of another hospice senior dog, Noodle, who gave her the courage to feel at home and become more comfortable with Tiffany and her new surroundings.

Mila is very vocal about her needs. She barks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner– and woofs loudly when it’s time for cuddles. She is curious and enjoys being near Tiffany but maintains her independence. Due to her past experiences, Mila still has some food insecurities, so she is fed separately and with a slow feeder to prevent her from devouring everything in front of her.

It is unclear what breed Mila is, but Tiffany describes her as a little old lady who enjoys simple pleasures like drinking tea, knitting, snuggling, and relaxing. When she was first rescued, Mila was diagnosed with lymphoma. She was given days to weeks to live, but she has already surpassed those expectations by three months. Tiffany provides palliative care for Mila every morning, night, and throughout the day, showering her with love and attention.

Each day with Mila is a gift, and Tiffany is intentional in making every moment count. She hopes that by providing love and support, she can ease any bad memories from Mila’s past and create a new story in this final chapter of her life. We are beyond grateful for Mila’s rescue. Tilly, a sick and abandoned puppy, was found with a bloated belly and missing fur. Her big, beautiful eyes pleaded for Aaron’s help. Aaron, realizing that Tilly had been dumped and needed assistance, took her to the vet. The drive to the vet was difficult, but it was confirmed that Tilly was very sick. Despite her condition, the vet assured Aaron that Tilly could get better with proper care and treatment.

“You’re gonna be the prettiest dog in Bali, aren’t you?” Aaron told Tilly. After a week-long stay at the animal hospital, Aaron took her home to begin her recovery journey. Tilly seemed to understand that she was in a safe place where she would get better. Her rescuer had a list of tasks to help Tilly recover, including giving her regular medicated baths. Although Tilly was not a fan of the water, she eventually understood that the baths were for her benefit.

As the days went by, Tilly’s condition improved. She gained more energy, her skin got better, and she began to flourish into a beautiful brown dog. Her transformation was so remarkable that she became unrecognizable from the sick puppy she once was. Tilly’s happiness was evident as she continued to recover.

After three months, it was time for Tilly to go to her new adoptive home. Aaron was sad to see her go but was also thrilled, knowing Tilly was going to a loving family that would cherish her. Tilly’s story had come full circle, and she could finally enjoy the rest of her life in a caring home.

Seeing Tilly go from a discarded, sickly dog to a happy, healthy, and beautiful pet was an incredible transformation. Her appearance now matched her vibrant personality, and she was finally able to live the life she deserved. Thank you, Aaron, for rescuing Tilly. When a photo of a dog, Beckett, appeared on a rescue site, his future mom took one glance and had goosebumps all over. Beckett was extremely uneasy around people. However, after four months of living with his new mom, he began to feel more confident and comfortable. Beckett’s unique appearance and love for the outdoors have made him a beloved companion, and his transformation from a fearful rescue dog to a happy, confident pet is a testament to the power of love and patience.

Beckett’s past is unknown, but it’s clear that he had been mistreated. In addition to being afraid of people, he was easily startled. His mom says his early-on behavior was indicative of an abused animal. Despite his rough start, Beckett’s new owner was determined to help him overcome his fears and become a happy, well-adjusted dog.

Over time, Beckett began to trust his mom and feel more comfortable in his new home. He developed a love for the outdoors, going on hikes every single day. Beckett doesn’t care about toys or anything inside; he just wants to be outside, exploring the world around him. His unique appearance, which includes a mix of Husky, Chow Chow, American Eskimo, and Pomeranian, often draws attention from passersby. Especially since his proportions are “all wrong,” yet make for one adorable dog!

As Beckett became more comfortable with people, his personality began to shine. He went from being afraid of people to being indifferent, and eventually, he became comfortable around others. It took four and a half years for Beckett to fully trust and feel at ease with people, but the transformation was well worth the wait.

Beckett celebrates his newfound joy in the cutest way: when he runs outside, he bunny hops. It’s as if his body can’t contain the appreciation and bliss that’s in his heart. Beckett’s mom believes that he is a poster dog for rescue animals. When people ask about his breed, she tells them about his rough start and how he has become an incredibly happy dog. Beckett’s story serves as a reminder that rescuing animals can lead to the most unique, special, and incredible pets.

One little girl even referred to Beckett as a “magic dog,” which perfectly captures his unique and enchanting nature. Beckett continues to win over his mom’s heart with his beautiful, and sometimes spunky, personality. Those initial goosebumps were a sign that Beckett was destined for a loving home and a bright future.

When a family adopted a dog named Baby, everyone was excited to make him an official family member. The puppy was doted on constantly and given hugs and kisses on demand. He was played with and joyfully went on daily walks. Baby grew accustomed to a beautiful life with his human parents and his human sibling named Mark. Mark was an intelligent kid and soon earned a scholarship to a top-notch university. When it was time to go off to school, Mark said his goodbyes to his parents and to Baby, whom he would miss terribly.

Mark got involved with school and rarely made it home to visit. But when he did, he made sure to spend time with Baby. After graduation, Mark took a job that was a distance away and didn’t have time to come home to visit except for the occasional holiday gathering. Then tragedy struck: both of Mark’s parents died in an accident, leaving Baby all alone.

The now ten-year-old dog soon moved in with Mark, and they both tried to rekindle their relationship. It took time and effort, but finally, they got into the groove of things. Mark took Baby on daily walks every morning before work, which was Baby’s favorite time of day. But one morning, things didn’t go as expected.

Mark had an important early meeting at work and overslept. He fed Baby, but when the dog stood in Mark’s way, eager to go for a walk with his tail wagging, Mark yelled at him. He told Baby to go lie down and Baby, defeated and upset, crawled into his bed with his tail between his legs. The exchange riddled Mark with guilt. While Mark’s morning meeting was successful, his day dragged on and he felt terrible. Once the work day was finished, he came home with his head hung low. He knew he had been cruel to Baby, who didn’t deserve it.

But amazingly, when Mark opened the door at the end of the day to go inside and apologize to Baby, the dog greeted him as soon as he heard the key enter the lock. While Baby likely forgot what had happened that morning, Mark never will. You see, a dog’s love and loyalty are the greatest gifts that should never be taken for granted. The man learned his lesson and was never unkind to Baby again.
