Part of each sale through the iHeartDogs store is donated to Greater Good, which helps support various charities. Thanks to customers like you, happy endings, like the one below, are made possible.
This match was made possible by a grant from GreaterGood.org fully funded by the iHeartDogs.com community.
“This grant will cover Veteran-pet matches. It will cover meeting with and getting to know Veterans, it will cover assessing dogs/cats in shelters and identifying the best match for our specific Veterans. Once the animal is selected, it will cover veterinary expenses, board and train and our Welcome Package of equipment given to each match. Chapters work with one Veteran at a time and screen numerous animals before selecting the right one. Once selected, the animal is trained for a minimum of six weeks.”
– Pets for Vets
“I’d like to thank you for finding me my new friend Ozzy. Ozzy is a terrier mix with lots of energy, but he is well mannered with lots of affection and love. Ozzy arrived at my house in mid-December with his Pets for Vets trainer Toni. He came to me at the perfect time. I was wounded in Iraq on December 21 and spent eight long months at Walter Reed recovering from my injuries. This is the time of year when I need a companion to be around me and keep me busy. Ozzy is the perfect dog for that. He always wants to play or just be around me and anytime I need him he’s there for me. Ozzy has made my life better and I can’t wait for the weather to get better and take him out on the trail.
Sincerely,
Rich”
