Coors: Use Your Valentine’s Money On A Shelter Dog

Even if you’re not familiar with the term “cuffing season,” you’re certainly familiar with the concept. As the weather gets colder and everyone heads inside, most have no desire to go out. Most prefer to have someone special to come home to and stay warm inside with every night. “Cuffing season” represents those winter months we all just want a cuddle buddy who won’t leave us even when the snow thaws.

Coors Light wants to let everyone who doesn’t have a Valentine this year know they don’t have to be alone. From February 4th, 2020 through the 21st, Coors Light will help cover the adoption fees of 1,000 shelter dogs. One of those lucky recipients could be you!

Chelsea Parker, Marketing Manager at Molson Coors, explained how being single isn’t so bad when you have a forever friend.

“Cuffing Season is a major cultural trend and poses tension for our younger drinkers, as they navigate the stress of finding someone to spend the cold months with. With almost half of millennials planning to stay in on Valentine’s Day, we wanted to help empower people to savor the day with Coors Light and a dog by their side.”

So if you don’t have a special human to spend February 14th with, why not spend it with a rescue dog instead? You can count on the fact that a dog’s love lasts past Valentine’s Day. For the rest of their lives, in fact!

The Promo Rules

Eligibility & What You Need To Apply

You won’t have to purchase beer, but you do need to be at least 21 years old. You also must reside in an eligible U.S. state and sadly California, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia are all excluded.

The promo requires you have a Venmo account and a SMS-enabled mobile device to participate.

Applying For The Promo

Here’s how it works: The first step is adopting a shelter dog. You will pay your new dog’s adoption fee yourself, then show Coors your good deed. They’ll reimburse 1,000 new dog parents up to $100.

You’ll need to use your eligible mobile device to take a photo of your adoption receipt. Your adoption proof must include:

  • Adoption receipt showing the adoption cost
  • Name of the Adoption shelter
  • Adoption location/state
  • Date of adoption (Adoption must occur between February 4, 2020 and February 21, 2020)
  • Animal type (The offer is only valid for dog adoption)

Once you have all that, send the picture as a text message with the keyword COORS4k9 to 28130. Coors will review the entries and select winners from there. You can view the entire promo rules and information here.

The bottom line is, a shelter dog makes for not only a perfect Valentine, but a “cuffing” buddy for life. Visit your local rescue this chilly February!
