Diane was driving down a dirt road on her day off. She unexpectedly passed this ‘little white floof’ and immediately turned the car around. A homeless white Husky was lying there, sunning herself. Diane went into ‘animal rescuer mode,’ searching her vehicle for a food bowl and leash.
She sat on the ground with the dog, coaxing her with food, but the pup refused the leash. Diane worked for an hour and a half and finally succeeded. Once the Husky was safely in Diane’s car, she climbed into the front seat and melted into Diane’s arms. Diane says, “It was like this beautiful thank-you moment.”
Diane named the gorgeous pup Opal and prepared herself for the journey ahead. The woman had no idea it would take a (very) long time to find Opal her forever home. Diane wanted to be sure that Opal’s new family could provide a better life for Opal than she could.
A whopping 733 days later, Emy came into the picture. Would Opal’s potential mom prove herself worthy? To witness Opal’s rescue and see what happens next, click ‘play’ on the video below.
