When Tre, a black Labrador, had his leg amputated, his future seemed uncertain. Despite the challenges Tre faced adjusting to life with three legs, his new dad’s love and support helped him regain his strength and confidence. Now, Tre is not only able to walk and run but has also inspired his owner, Kyle, to pursue his dreams and compete on American Ninja Warrior.
When Kyle first saw him, he knew that Tre needed him as much as Kyle needed him too. He was going through a divorce and was considering getting a puppy to help him through the difficult time. Despite being warned that Tre would require a lot of work due to his recent amputation, he decided to adopt him.
At first, Tre struggled to stand on his own. He was unsure of his new home and dad. He had difficulty navigating the tile floors in their home. To help him, Kyle bought yoga mats for him to stand on and carried him around when necessary. The surgeon who performed Tre’s amputation could not guarantee that he would ever walk again, but his dad remained hopeful.
Over time, Tre began to regain his strength and confidence. Kyle worked with him to build up his muscles by using a sling. Amazingly, Tre got up one day all on his own. Kyle was so proud! Soon, he was walking, and then running! He chased geckos and squirrels in the yard. His dad even taught him how to do handstands.
Watching Tre’s progress inspired Kyle to pursue his own dreams, and he applied to compete on American Ninja Warrior. After three years of applying, he was finally invited to compete on the show, with Tre as his inspiration and motivation.
Tre and Kyle have formed an unbreakable bond, with Tre snuggling up on his pillow every night as a sign of trust. Their story is a testament to the power of love, support, and determination in overcoming life’s challenges.
