Stolen Puppy Is Reunited With Family After Thief Tries Selling Her On Facebook

For a family in Michigan, what started as a nightmare turned into a happy ending, thanks to some detective work!

In a story by WXMI, mom Tiffany Townsend explained that her children were playing with Nyla, their 14-week-old Pekinese / Poodle mix in their front yard, when a strange woman approached. She snatched the puppy right from the arms of one of their boys, then sped off in her car.

The family was understandably devastated, but luckily, Lost Paws, LLC founder Lyndsey Sturgeon and colleague Bianca LaFountain heard their story and wanted to help.

It wasn’t long before the women saw a posting for the pup on a local garage sale Facebook page, and promptly met with the seller to pay $100 for the pooch. Thanks to their detective work and quick thinking, a heartwarming reunion was made possible!

Watch the news story, including their reunion, below:

The women did not tell the seller that they knew that she was a thief, as getting Nyla to safety was the first priority. However, the family now has more information on the suspect, and plans to press charges.

We’re so glad that this story has a happy ending, and we hope justice is served to the thief!
