The Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in London were more than a little baffled when they discovered the dogs from one section of their shelter roaming the halls early one morning. There was no explanation for how the pups got out of their locked kennels overnight, but it wasn’t just limited to that – the food stores had also been raided.

At first, the staff thought the incident was harmless and caused by a mistake. But once it started happening every night, they knew something was up and decided to look into it.
The shelter installed CCTVs in the particular block where the dogs escaped from, as well as the kitchen, in hopes of discovering how they managed to break out.

In this footage from the shelter, we see the dogs waiting patiently in their kennels for the staff to leave at the end of the day. One dog named Red is visibly waiting for everyone to leave before he steps out of his bed.

We were in awe as we watched Red not only free himself but also release every other dog on his block with a few quick moves! As the whole gang went for their late-night snack in the kitchen, it was evident that the other dogs saw Red as their leader.
