Hope For Paws, an amazing rescue organization, was called in to try to rescue a dog that had been loose in a port for two years. Hope For Paws founder Eldad nicknamed the dog Houdini for good reason! The allusive pup had been on the run, unwilling to let anyone close enough to catch him. Concerned for his well-being, Hope For Paws made it their mission to save him. But nothing could prepare them for the challenges they would soon face trying to capture the dog that had no intention of leaving.
When the rescuers arrived on the scene, they placed a humane trap with delicious food inside, hoping to lure Houdini in. But he wasn’t falling for it! He sniffed around, then ran off once again. As days passed, Houdini sensed Eldad’s intention and stared right into the rescuer’s eyes as if he were sending him a message.
Eldad’s right-hand woman, Loretta, stayed nearby with a catch pole. The rest of the team lined the perimeter while Eldad explained the plan. This calculated mission would hopefully work. The rescue volunteers were armed with soccer nets. Finally, after several grueling days, Houdini was cornered into a smaller area, but man, this dog was fast!
Eldad excitedly yelled the moment he thought Houdini had nowhere to go, but the pup hid under a car, ready to bolt again. But then a miracle happened! Eldad got close enough to wrangle Houdini while another rescuer placed a net on top of him. What follows is incredible! Press ‘play’ on the video below to see how Houdini’s rescue mission turns out.
