Miley Cyrus Says Late Pit Bull Blessed Her With Another Rescue Dog

Miley Cyrus Angel

Singer Miley Cyrus always has room in her heart for more animals in need. She finds so much joy in changing a dog’s life and showering them with love. But when she lost her rescue Pit Bull Mary Jane, she felt like a part of her was missing. Of all her rescue animals, Mary Jane was the one she felt closest to, and even though she knew that day was coming, she still wasn’t prepared.

But Cyrus knew she couldn’t wallow in sadness forever. After all, there will always be more animals out there who need saving. So, while looking up to her late Pit Bull, Cyrus chose to adopt another from the shelter in her late dog’s honor.

Blessed with an Angel

Two months after Mary Jane died of cancer, Cyrus announced a new addition to her family. She adopted another Pit Bull, who she named Angel in honor of her deceased pup looking down on her. Cyrus believes that the dogs she has lost are never truly gone. To her, it feels like Mary Jane brought her to Angel.

“I feel her here with me blessing this new member to my family who’s name is ‘Angel’ because she was delivered to me by one … My Mary,” Cyrus wrote. “It breaks my heart to know Angel was sleeping on concrete in a shelter for three months before finally making it home. The stigma and stereotype that surrounds pit bulls tears me in two. This breed is incomparably loving. Just like humans, nurture often overrides nature.”

Along with a long, heartfelt caption, Cyrus also shared plenty of adorable photos of Angel in her new home. The sweet dog already seems comfortable since she’s always curled up beside Cyrus or the other dogs.

All Dogs Deserve Love

Angel has now joined Cyrus’ large family of rescue animals, which includes about five dogs, three cats, two horses, and a pig. Cyrus turned to nonprofit Frankie, Lola, and Friends to find Angel. The organization rescues dogs, especially Pit Bulls, and helps them find the perfect homes. They felt that Cyrus had the ideal home for Angel. Now, Cyrus is very much in love with her new furry friend.

“I am head over heels in love. Not sure I will ever sleep again because I can’t take my eyes off of her! Her halo shines for all to see and I can’t wait to show her off!” Cyrus wrote. “It’s pretty cool having an Angel on a leash! She is illuminated by the aura of the late and great Mary Jane.”

Of course, we can all agree that Angel is adorable! Pit Bulls are often the most overlooked at shelters and rescues due to stereotypes, but most of them, including Mary Jane and Angel, are absolute sweethearts. So, Cyrus did a kind thing by offering a home to one of the dogs who needed it most. After all, every dog deserves a loving home.
