Something with oatmeal.. Also dogs can take antihistamine. I used to give my dog benadryl for this..

To be honest I very rarely wash my staff. The odd time I watch her which is once in a blue moon, as they don’t have hair to worry about, the odd time I did shampoo her I used oatmeal, goats milk shampoos. Her coat looks fantastic. I am lucky we live near the beach and saltwater is her bath.

I can’t give advice for a dog that likes mud, water, snow, rain, light shower, puddles or anything else remotely H2O based, but for a hydrophobic Nancy boy who didn’t need cleaning much, I never once showered him in over 10 years! The vet how very sensitive a staff’s skin is and to avoid shampooing etc. I used to use hypoallergenic wet wipes for any muck, slobber and general ick.Xxx

Change their diet. Our dog had terrible itchy skin but once we found the chicken allergy we have had no problem. Remove grains and test which proteins they may be sensitive too

Burts Bees Oatmeal. All 3 of mine have dry skin and it works great on them. I also use the moisturizing conditioner.

Maleseb is the only thing that worked for my pooch. We established she had hayfever so from around April to September she would get really itchy, 2 antihistamines a day and a shower every 10 days or so. Leave the shampoo on all foamy for around 10 minutes the rinse off. Worked a treat

Our Staff is allergic to any and all chicken protein including eggs. Pretty common. Our vet does not recommend getting rid of all grains. Find one your dog can tolerate. There are other long term negative effects to eliminating all grains. Most dogs can tolerate a little vitamin E, olive oil, or coconut oil for dry skin, but watch for loose stools (I give ours less than a teaspoon a day).
We use Burt’s Bees shampoo, but we don’t bathe ours often either, maybe twice a year.

I just use a mild conditioner lukewarm water then rub baby oil all over her with aloe in it. While she is still in shower, Will shed a bit afterwards. Common. But no problems after that. Yes and I don’t wash her a lot either. I also add fish oil to her food in morning.
