You knew her as a domineering dog aficionado in Best in Show but did you know that Jane Lynch is a dog lover in real life? I mean, a big-time dog lover. And I’m not just saying that because she’s six-feet tall. Jane is constantly rescuing dogs of all shapes and sizes and welcoming them into her Los Angeles home. She is the proud dog mom to three furbabies currently – Millie, Rumi, and Bernice.
She Lays Her Head Down At Night Just Like The Rest Of Us
While a lot of A-list celebrities can seem out of touch with the rest of us peasants, it turns out, Jane lays her head down at night just like the rest of us – with furry feet in her back and a trio of snoring, lucky dogs!
“We do have a California King. And it’s funny, the one that takes up the most room is Rumi – and he’s the smallest,” she told MSN.com. “We do have to move pillows between them we have to build like a fort because they get mad at each other. If you kick them, oh, it can be real drama.”
The Life And Times Of Fatty Arbuckle
You may even be more familiar with Jane’s dogs than you think. A couple of years ago, Fatty Arbuckle, a.k.a. Arbuckle and Arbs, rolled into her life. He was found as a stray wandering in a field in California. Arbuckle had an untreated thyroid condition which caused his weight to skyrocket to 116 pounds!
Thanks to Jane’s love and dedication, Arbuckle was able to slim waaaay down… all the way down to 66 pounds! Jane gave Arbuckle the love, time, attention, diet, and team of specialists that he needed to get a second chance at life. And that he did.
Arbuckle became an Instagram sensation. Jane loved sharing his story and progress which helped Arbuckle to amass an impressive following before he passed in January of 2019. So much so that the shelter where Jane adopted him from was able to change lives thanks to the generous donations of Arbuckle’s fans in his memory.
Nothing Loves A Human More Than Rescue Pets
Before Rumi, Millie, Bernice, and the infamous Arbuckle, there was Olivia. She was a tiny Lhasa Apso who Jane said would have been Zsa Zsa Gabor, if only dogs were human celebrities.
Jane has such a massive heart for rescue dogs and her long resume of dog-dom doesn’t stop at spoiling rescues. She took things one step further and partnered with Banfield Pet Hospital. Their campaign aims to help spread awareness about the importance of regular veterinary care.
Jane once told Parade Magazine, “Every pet deserves a loving human and nothing loves a human more than rescue pets.”
To be honest, we couldn’t agree more!
