Our furry friends have got us through a lot of tough times, especially during 2020. The start of the pandemic forced lots of people to stay home, not knowing what the future held. But thanks to dogs all over the world, humans felt comforted and supported amid the pandemic. So, Hilton wants to thank those supportive canines at some of their hotels.
Select Hilton locations will be offering dog menus for the special furry friends in your life. These menus look even fancier than the human ones, but your pup deserves it!
Dogs Dine in Luxury
On May 17th, Hilton will launch a new pet menu for guests. 32 pet-friendly hotels in the United Kingdom and Ireland already confirmed that they will sell these tasty dishes.
The dog menu is called “Bone Appétit,” and it will include the following dishes:
- Beef Doguignon – a slow-cooked beef brisket with a side of mashed potatoes, carrots, green beans, sweetcorn, broad beans, and gluten-free gravy.
- Mutt Roast – a gluten-free tomato pasta that’s roasted in the oven and topped with mature cheddar cheese.
- Earl Greyhound – a dog-friendly “tea,” which is a blend of lavender, rose petals, lime flower, and orange flower.
- Tailwagger Creek – a non-alcoholic dog wine, which is infused with elderflower, nettle, ginseng, lime flower, and black carrot.
These menu items sound fancy enough to be at a five-star restaurant. But they’re all made specifically for dogs. Veterinary nutrition experts helped develop these recipes with dog health in mind. The dishes have also been approved by DogFriendly, a site that helps dog parents find pet-friendly hotels and restaurants in the United Kingdom.
Spoil Your Furry Friend
Your dog deserves to be spoiled and pampered, especially if they made life better for you amid the pandemic. Hilton conducted research to reveal that 82% of British pet parents considered their dogs supportive during the difficult year. In fact, most agreed that they were just as helpful as a human family member or close friend.
So, Hilton created this menu as a “thank you” for everything dogs have done for their humans this year and every year prior. Hilton’s UK and Ireland vice president, Julie Baker, explained the menu as a way for humans to give their dogs a special reward after the pandemic.
Dogs do so much for us without even trying. Even just being near them lifts our spirits and makes us feel less alone. So, we need to thank the special four-legged friends in our lives as much as we can. They deserve a little extra pampering at their next hotel stay.
