Abandoned Mother Dog Completely Lights Up When She Gets Her First Toy

iHeartDogs works closely with GreaterGood.org to donate a portion of sales to their various charity efforts. Through the Rescue Bank program, thousands of shelter dogs and cats each year are able to have food, provided by Greater Good Charities. Thanks to the support of customers like you, happy endings like the one below are made possible.

When Sugar and Brownie the dogs were found by Westbury CARE, they were both very pregnant, homeless and about to give birth any day.

“They were found right before giving birth and enrolled in CARE, where they were safe as well as their puppies,” the rescue said.

It was just in time that the dogs were found. When the two met, they seemed to hit it off and eventually, Brownie was adopted while Sugar remained in that same home with her friend.

Sugar is still waiting for her forever home.

“Brownie is adopted and Sugar is her foster sister still waiting for a home,” the rescue said. They are well-loved.”

Thanks to the Greater Good Charities Rescue Bank, which supplies food to shelters in need, Westbury CARE was able to feed Brownie, Sugar, and other dogs in the rescue system. The group helps shelters save money that will then in turn help cover other costs like vet bills.

It also donates enrichment items like toys to the shelters, where dogs are able to play, show off and really be themselves around potential adopters.

Thanks to these programs, Brownie has a home, and Sugar is well on her way to finding her forever, too.
