4-Week-Old Puppy Was Sold Online For $600 — Then Quickly Dumped

A puppy named Little Bear landed in a shelter in 2012 at just four weeks old. He was the result of basement breeding and was then sold off on Craigslist to a new owner who wasn’t happy about all of the work that came with taking care of him.

Little Bear was sold on Craigslist for $600 to someone who ended up not even wanting him.

This person recognized that the pup needed to be bottle-fed and wanted to get rid of him immediately.

But at least he contacted Social Tees Animal Rescue instead of dumping him explaining that he bought the dog for his six-month-old boy but didn’t like the work that would be required to care for Little Bear.

The man made it clear though that’d he’d leave the dog on the street if they didn’t take him in, so the rescue rushed to get him.

Social Tees took Little Bear in and began the bottle-feeding he so desperately needed. This is when they learned he had come from a basement breeder.

Puppies born to basement breeding are often separated from their mothers way too soon and die without proper care. Little Bear was one of the lucky ones.

After a rough start to life, things have finally started looking up for Little Bear! The first vet visit went well, and he’s made progress right on schedule for a pup his age. 🙂

He’d be able to eat on his own once all of his teeth came in, but until then he’d be cared for by people who love him.

Little Bear would then be put up for adoption once ready and eventually get that loving forever home to top off his journey!

Little Bear is one example of dogs being bred for profit by people who don’t actually care about their well-being. But there are people out there who are willing to step up and fight for these dogs.
