Vanessa Bryant experienced the heartbreaking loss of her husband, Kobe Bryant, and daughter, Gianna Bryant, in 2020. The devastating loss is something Vanessa will never truly get over, but she has been grateful to have her other three daughters and her two dogs around to comfort her.
But sadly, the family recently experienced another heartbreak. Their dog named Crucio passed away in early 2022. The black Lab shared a close bond with Kobe, and he spent many years giving love to his humans. So, despite being an older dog, the Bryants are shocked and heartbroken after his death.
Leaving Pawprints On Hearts
Vanessa and her daughter Natalia both turned to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news about Crucio. They each posted several pictures of their memories with the pup.
“We love you, Crucio. Thank you for everything sweet boy. Thank you for watching over us. We’re going to miss you,” Vanessa wrote.
Several celebrities, including Kris Jenner, Lily Collins, and Ciara commented on Vanessa’s post to share their condolences.
“I truly have no words except for the fact that Crucio was the best dog I could have ever asked for. To the most handsome, loving, selfless, and brave dog – you will forever be missed,” Natalia wrote.
Rest in Peace, Crucio
Crucio was more than just a dog to the Byrants because he was an important family member. He was always there to provide comfort and cuddles, especially when the family lost two of their beloved human members. Of course, Crucio missed Kobe and Gianna, but he knew he needed to be there for the rest of the family.
A month before Crucio’s death, Vanessa even posted a video of the pup giving her lots of kisses. She captioned the post by saying how he always tries to lick her tears. The video is proof that he was always there for the humans he cared about.
Vanessa has one other dog named Bobby, who she brought home a few months after Kobe’s death. Bobby is an adorable gray French Bulldog. Basketball player Jayson Tatum also brought home a French Bulldog puppy after Kobe’s death, and he named the dog in the late basketball star’s honor.
A dog’s death might not be as shocking as a human’s, but it’s still incredibly sad. Crucio was a sweet, loving boy, so he deserves to be honored. Rest in peace, Crucio. Your family loves you more than you know!
