A street dog named Zhuzha hobbled around with a swollen belly. The rescuers with Love Furry Friends spotted the distressed pup and knew she needed immediate medical attention. A kind woman with the rescue group asked a passerby if she knew anything about Zhuzha. The passerby assured the woman she had been spayed, so her swollen belly couldn’t be from pregnancy.
The tag on the dog’s ear confirmed she was fixed through the city’s spay/neuter program. So why was her belly like this? It was so enlarged that the dog could hardly walk. Zhuzha looked to the kind woman, pleading for help, with her precious puppy dog eyes.
Zhuzha was taken to the vet straight away, who confirmed her swollen belly was due to a heart condition that caused fluid to accumulate in her abdomen. Her belly had to be drained. The medical procedure was a success, and Zhuzha felt so much better!
A few days later, her rescuer visited the pup. Zhuzha happily ate a treat and spent time with the woman who saved her life. What an incredible rescue! Zhuzha awaits her forever home in a safe place where she is well-cared for.
