Dogs are not allowed on public transportation in Argentina’s capital city of Buenos Aires. Luckily for a pair of stray dogs, a bus driver let them onto his bus to escape from a torrential thunderstorm earlier this year.
These pictures were shared on Facebook thousands of times, but the driver has never been identified. It’s possible he was afraid he would lose his job for breaking the rules. It’s also possible he was suspended before the story became a viral sensation.
The transport line claims they would not have punished the driver in this instance.
Whoever he is, we’re glad he helped these poor dogs get out of the rain! Stories remind us that there is still kindness left in the world – we just have to find it. We hope that because of the publicity, these pups were able to find forever homes.
