Cloe and Nena are the newest Dogs of Instagram sensations. One look at these drop dead gorgeous pups and it’s easy to see why people can’t seem to get enough of them. Their long, glossy, wavy hair is enough to make any dog lover take a second look but they’ve got an ace in the hole that makes them simply irresistible. They both have ridiculously long eyelashes framing their deep brown eyes.
Twin English Cocker Spaniels
The sisters are English Cocker Spaniels from the same litter who live in Italy with Vittoria Di Castri, 22. Cloe and Nena’s Instagram page, @cockertwinss shows that they are nieces to another Dog of Instagram, @cockernando. Both sites are building a large following. Cloe and Nena are great sports about posing. They are often side-by-side looking amazing, nibbling on fruit or allowing their human to apply mascara to further accentuate those killer lashes. Vittoria told the New York Post that the dogs’ lashes are “100 percent natural.”

Long Lashes Records for Dogs
Cocker Spaniels are known to have long eyelashes. In fact, a Cocker Spaniel from Michigan named Buddy once held the Guiness Book of World Records top spot for the longest eyelashes on a dog. His lashes were 4.7 inches long! Those beat the previous longest dog eye lash record holder by more than an inch!

Buddy was booted from the world record holding spot for the longest canine eyelash by Prince Albert. He was a Lhasa apso from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. On November 27, 2004, an eyelash on Prince Albert’s left side measured 5.35 inches. Lhasa apsos’ long eyelashes are there to serve a purpose. They are genetically predisposed to long lashes because they keep the breed’s long hair from falling into their eyes.

Cloe and Nena’s lashes have been up to 6 cm long (that’s 2.4 inches). Surprisingly they have a long way to go to reach world record status but it might be possible. Vittoria says she has to trim and comb them to keep them from getting tangled and bothersome to her girls.
More Makeup Related Dog Trends
Called awkward and a waste of time, one website devoted a post to scores of photos showing dogs with eyebrows painted onto them. Another post shows a little Chihuahua whose human decided would look super in false eyelashes. It does look cute, but pretty uncomfortable for the accommodating pup. Last, but definitely not least, we have Malachi the Pit Bull who gives makeup tutorials on YouTube. He recommends colors to use for a “blue/gray fur tone” and rounds out his looks by “glossing” his lips with a wet lick. Too cute!
