There’s no such thing as perfect but the Magic Mike star comes pretty darn close! Especially since he recently added cute little Rook to his family!
“This is the newest member of the Tatum tribe. Meet ‘Rook’ or ‘Rooklin’ 12 week old Dutch Shepard! He’s gonna be a goon,” Tatum wrote on Instagram.
Rook Proved That Tatum Is Able To Love Again After Losing His Best Friend
Rook joined Tatum’s family after a particularly difficult loss. Tatum said a heartbreaking goodbye to his beloved dog, Lulu, earlier this year. She was a Belgian Malinois that he was able to honor in one of his upcoming films, DOG, which is set to be released next Valentine’s Day.
“I’ll see you again baby girl. But you’ll always be with me. Always,” he posted while mourning the gut wrenching loss.
Lulu passed away from cancer and her parents were completely devastated.
“Thank you for the adventures. Heartbroken doesn’t even come close to how it feels. But you will live on forever in our hearts and our memories…fly sweet angel,” Tatum’s ex, Jenna Dewan, added at the time.
When Tatum recently announced the addition of rambunctious Rook into his family, he opened up about his emotions surrounding the loss of Lulu. Tatum was afraid that he wouldn’t be open to welcoming four paws back into his life, but that all changed the minute he set his eyes on Rook.
“He sought me out and we met eyes and then some imprinting **** happened,” Tatum said.
Rook Has Some Really Big Paws To Fill – Literally!
Little Rook won’t stay little for long! He has a bit of growing to do before he fits into his big paws and protruding ears. We can already tell we’re going to love his personality! Anyone who is that vocal about getting served dinner is a friend of ours!
Tatum’s deep devotion to his doggos goes way back. The Hollywood hunk can be spotted attending events like Fox’s Cause For Paws: All-Star Dog Spectacular. He even once admitted to Ellen that he liked to recreate that famous scene from Dirty Dancing with Lulu! You know – the one where Patrick Swayze lifts Jennifer Grey over his head. Yep. He loves his pups that much!
Lulu could be frequently found hanging out on the set of Tatum’s biggest blockbusters. Little Rook has no idea the kind of spoiling he’s in for!
