For some couples, the next step in a relationship might be marriage or kids, but for any animal lovers, there’s a better option: getting a dog!
Singers Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have gotten serious since they first started dating. They’ve been quarantining at Cabello’s family’s home, where they have three dogs to look after. But after spending so much time together, the couple realized that they were ready for the next step in their relationship. So, they decided to get their first dog as a couple. He’s a puppy named Tarzan, and he’s as cute as can be!
Meet Tarzan!
Mendes first introduced his followers to Tarzan on Instagram, simply writing “Hi Tarzan” with a heart emoji. The first image is a closeup of the Golden Retriever puppy’s sweet face as Cabello holds him in her arms. Then, Mendes also shared two videos of the pup’s first moments at his new home. One video shows Mendes in the front of the car while Cabello holds Tarzan in the back seat, and the other shows Tarzan exploring his new surroundings.
Fans of both Mendes and Cabello commented on how ridiculously cute their new addition is. This included comments from a few stars, including model Hailey Bieber and fellow singer Bazzi.
Yet, the sweet puppy isn’t the only thing that’s getting more serious in their family though. In Mendes’ upcoming documentary on Netflix, he shares heartwarming information about how much Cabello influences his music career positively.
“My song comes on the radio or something and I’m like, ‘Everything’s about you. They’re all … They have always been about you,'” Mendes said, referring to a conversation he had with Cabello.
A Happy Family
Cabello’s family already has three dogs, who the couple has been seen walking a few times. The Shih Tzu named Leo, Chihuahua named Eugene, and German Shepherd named Thunder can be a handful to walk all at the same time. However, Tarzan will be the first dog to belong to both Cabello and Mendes alone.
Tarzan isn’t the first dog to be named after a lovable cartoon character though. Cabello claimed that she loves naming animals after Disney characters. She didn’t get to name her first few dogs, but her Chihuahua is named after Eugene Fitzherbert from Tangled. So, the name Tarzan is the perfect way to keep up the tradition.
While the couple hasn’t released much information about their puppy just yet, it’s clear that Tarzan is one lucky pup! He now has two parents who are huge dog lovers and very much in love with each other. So, it’ll be exciting to see updates on him as he grows up into a beautiful Golden Retriever.
