20 Best Foods for Huskies with Diarrhea
Rice & plain boiled hamburger to reset his system. Add probiotics too. Then slowly introduce him to a good nutritious food. Taste of the wild, waterfowl kind helped my sensitive tummy husky/shepherd. Had him on it for quite a while when he was young. Now he gets the Kirkland Nature’s Domain red or blue bags from Costco. Both my husky/shepherd and my heeler/shepherd do well on it.

My husky went thru the same thing. Took a while to figure out what upsets his tummy. Part was the heartworm meds. He couldn’t tolerate the chewy meds. He had to be on the pill form. Next we had to increase the fiber in his diet. Yes, he was frequently checked for parasites. As I do have a parrot. It’s going to be trial and error. Takes time to figure out what there allergic to. Try feeding something he’s never had before. Like bison, duck, venison. Gradually introduce in his diet. So if he eats 2 cups a food a day. Do a week at 1/2 cup new food 1 1/2 cup current food. Do this until you are at all new good. Should take 3 to 4 weeks to introduce new food. In mean time get him on a probiotic to help get good bacteria in his stomach. You can boil hamburg or chicken with some rice. If he doesn’t care for that give him some plain pasta. Huskys can be very fussy. Good luck. I hope you have patience.

I know that switching food to quick can give them diarrhea. You must do it slowly by mixing it half and half and then gradually to your new food completely. There are lots of great foods out there just read the ingredients carefully. Also changing water can give them diarrhea. Pumpkin is always good when dogs have a upset stomach. White bread helps my puppy.

Could be a food allergy, mine is allergic to wheat/grain plus potatoes so I buy grain free when I do have to feed him kibble and Orijen is the brand I buy. But he eats home cooked food on a normal basis and I haven’t had any issues. Hope this helps.

Boiled rice and boiled chicken breast (or canned chicken breast in water) for 3-4 days. Talk to your vet, for sure. Let them know you did the chicken+rice diet for however many days. They will probably give you medication if it has not resolved in 3-4 days and test for any diseases that could be causing the stomach upset.Watch what you’re giving your pup to eat. Any kitchen scraps? Stop that, it doesn’t help. If your pup is really sensitive like mine, s/he might need to be on a prescription diet so your pup can properly digest its food. It could be an allergy. It could be many things. Your vet will be able to test and give you an answer

You have to introduce foods slowly. Ease it in over time. If you’re doing that then give rice and little hamburger a few meals till it get better and then slowly introduce the new kibble. We use Merrick kibble mixed w a little of their wet food and some bone broth powder.

We settled on Purina One Digestive Health and a lot of our issues went away. It has a probiotic in it. We tried the expensive foods and they made it worse. To help calm the tummy, give a few days of boiled white rice, sweet potatoes and either child or ground beef. Also check with your vet to make sure it’s not a food allergy.

My Sibe has periodic diarrhea. The vet diagnosed it as food allergies, but I think it also might be ISBD. He gets a prescription diet – Hills Science Diet Z/D, but I also add some ground beef, which has been boiled to remove much of the fat. That seems to work. The one question that needs to be cleared up, is whether the diarrhea is due to an infection, or something genetic, like ISBD or food allergies.
