Dog Walker Comes Across “Gentle” Pit Bull Tied To A Tree With A Note Attached

Dog walker Eric Maus was taking a stroll through Prospect Park with a couple of clients, Gouda and Lily, when he came across the saddest sight. There was a Pit Bull tied to a tree with a note attached.

“Take me home. I’m a great dog. I’m 7 years old. Don’t let my size scare you. I’m sweet.”

Eric approached the two other dogs, and the gentle giant didn’t move an inch. She was very friendly and very loving.

A dog walker noticed that there was a dog alone in Prospect Park, so he asked for advice on Facebook. A few minutes later, people responded with suggestions of what to do.

So Eric took to Facebook to post a photo of Mamas to a neighborhood page asking for advice. And within just a few minutes, responses started coming in! One Good Samaritan asked to meet them by the tree and even arranged for a vehicle to pick them up outside of the park to take them to Sean Casey Animal Rescue. The animal shelter had a kennel.

They walked out of the park together, but Mamas couldn’t walk at a normal pace. Due to her size and a possible bladder infection, she was slow. The rescue then took her in to head back for medical care, and it was there that she finally relaxed!

Mama needs to stay through the required stray hold, but then she’ll be put up for adoption and get her forever home!

In the meantime, Mamas is happy to be out of the park and surrounded by people who love and care for her. Eric knows whoever adopts this sweet girl will be very lucky to have her.
