Lisa Vanderpump’s Dog Died Of Cancer Hours After She Returned From Vacation

Lisa Vanderpump's Dog Rumpy Dies

A few months ago, Lisa Vanderpump opened up about the health struggles of her Golden Retrievers. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum shared that her 13-year-old pup named Avery was struggling with age-related issues while 9-year-old Rumpy had cancer. Avery passed away in September 2021, and now, Rumpy has followed her.

Rumpy died only a few hours after Vanderpump returned home from a vacation. She said that he waited for her before saying his final goodbyes. Vanderpump has rescued many dogs over the years, but her love for each one is stronger than anyone could imagine.

An Emotional Goodbye

Vanderpump turned to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news about Rumpy. While Avery had passed away in her sleep, Rumpy wasn’t ready to say goodbye without his mom by his side. When Vanderpump returned to her home after a visit to London, Rumpy was there waiting for her. But only a few hours later, he crossed the rainbow bridge.

“What a lovely boy, Rumpy passed away from cancer a few hours after we returned from London .. he waited for us. We will always love him,” Vanderpump wrote.

Along with the emotional message, Vanderpump also shared a few photos of her beloved dog. She posted one of her beside the pup, one of her husband kissing Rumpy’s head, and one of the canine relaxing by himself. Many followers commented to share their condolences after Rumpy’s passing. It’s clear that the senior pup was loved.

Rest in Peace, Rumpy

Rumpy will be missed greatly, but his death won’t stop Vanderpump from spending time with dogs. She still has a few other rescue dogs, including Binky and Puffy. At the end of 2020, she also said goodbye to one of her Pomeranians named Giggy. So, Rumpy was the third dog she lost in only a year.

Vanderpump even has her own animal rescue organization called the Vanderpump Dog Foundation, which she started in Giggy’s honor. Her mission is to save and find homes for as many dogs in need as possible. Vanderpump created a TV show about her dog rescue to spread the word.

“It’s been a slow, gradual awareness, but thanks to the vehicle of a reality show, and Bravo so kindly gave us the airtime, it’s been wonderful,” Vanderpump said. “To have success, that excited me.”

In honor of all the beloved rescue dogs that Vanderpump has lost, she will keep fighting to help more homeless dogs. Hopefully, Rumpy is looking down on her and continuing to be proud of the amazing work she’s doing.
