Big events like the Emmys are not ideal in the time of a pandemic. Yet, host Jimmy Kimmel had some fun during his monologues. He called this year’s show the “Pandemmys” and he often made fun of the fake audience. But something even better came from this semi-virtual event: celebrity dogs!
Multiple celebrities were accompanied by their dogs during the event, and many furry friends even photobombed their parents. That’s not something that happens at a regular Emmys show, but we sure wish it did!
So, which furry friends made an appearance and which ones helped their parents get ready? As it turns out, these stars would be nothing without the help of their dogs.
Alex Bornstein
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel actress spent a lot of time getting ready with her Yorkie named Arturo. The routine included makeup and vintage clothes for Bornstein, along with a bath for Arturo. The end result was the most unique Zoom call in existence. After all, it’s go big or go home at the Emmys.
Jennifer Aniston
On Jennifer Aniston’s Instagram story, she shared a photo of her two pups getting ready for the event. Clyde, the smaller of the two, wore a handsome bowtie. But Sophie wanted to be elegant like her mom, so she had a pearl necklace on. Aniston captioned that they’re “ready for the after party.”
Dylan McDermott
The Hollywood actor and his dog Otis have an unusual preparation routine for the Emmys. McDermott spent a lot of time dancing and exercising beforehand while Otis didn’t look amused. However, McDermott jokes that his pup always pushes him to exercise harder. In the end, they both cleaned up nicely, and Otis wore a handsome bowtie.
William Jackson Harper
Harper and his girlfriend wore matching shirts for the Emmys, and that meant that their dog Chico had to be in on it too. Unfortunately, Chico hates shirts, so he wasn’t thrilled about The Good Place actor’s scheme. Chico’s face says it all in the photos.
D’Arcy Carden
The Good Place actress’ dog Penny is not a lap dog. Yet, Carden had no problem holding the dog like a puppy during her Emmys photoshoot. She doesn’t even care that the pup is touching her expensive Valentino dress.
Rachel Brosnahan
Brosnahan and her husband decided to wear comfortable pajamas for this event instead of going all out. Her dogs, Nikki and Winston were festive too. Winston wore a bowtie while Nikki showed off an adorable bow in her hair. During the event, Winston even made an appearance on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star’s screen, trying to steal the show.
Even though the Emmys wasn’t ideal this year, at least we can agree on one thing: the dogs made the show better!
