Kiki is an American Shorthair Cat, but he doesn’t seem to know that. He spends so much time with his three Shiba Inu siblings that he now seems to think he’s one of them. Even when he meets new dogs, he behaves more like a dog than a cat. So, maybe he is just a Shiba Inu in a cat’s body.
Now, Kiki and his siblings have taken over the internet. Many animal lovers have fallen in love with the unique bond that the cat and three dogs share. After all, they really are the perfect family!
Welcoming Kiki Home
At first, Kiki’s parents were hesitant about getting a cat. They had always been a dog family, with three beautiful Shibas. But the dog mom quickly desired a cat too. Unfortunately, her husband just wasn’t a cat person though.
“The reason why I wanted to expand our family with a cat rather than a dog was quite simple: I’ve had a cat in the past,” Kiki’s mom said. “But when I told my husband that I wanted a kitty, I learned he wasn’t very fond of cats. I kept at it, but he refused every time.”
With enough begging, Kiki’s mom was finally able to get her way. The couple worked together to find a cat that they both liked. Of course, they wanted to make sure they chose a cat that was compatible with their other furry friends. Kiki seemed like he would be the perfect brother for the three Shiba Inus.
The Odd One Out
Kiki adapted to his new family right away. He instantly bonded with the three dogs and began acting like he was one of them. At first glance, the feline might look like the odd one out, but he thinks he’s no different than his siblings. Even around other dogs, he feels like he belongs.
“I took Kiki and our dogs to a Shiba Inu party,” said Kiki’s mom. “Kiki was getting along with all the dogs just fine, but one of them suddenly started barking at him. Immediately, one of our Shibas, Saki, barked back, protecting Kiki. At that point, I understood they’ve become true companions.”
Kiki also behaves like a dog in many other ways. While cats often wake up at unusual times and make noises in the middle of the night, Kiki sleeps peacefully beside the Shibas. He always rests whenever his brothers do, even if he already had plenty of naps. In fact, the Shibas are also quiet and respectful when their feline brother chooses to nap throughout the day.
It’s clear that these siblings bring out the best in each other. The Shibas help Kiki be kind and social while Kiki teaches them to be loyal. Cats and dogs might be pinned against each other by society, but they can sometimes be the best of friends.
