Dog’s Extravagant Birthday Party Saves Homeless Animals

Goldendoodle Special Birthday Party

Dogs deserve to be loved and cherished, so dog birthday parties are becoming increasingly popular. Many dog parents spend lots of money on things their dogs might not even notice, such as fancy decorations and billboards. However, a Goldendoodle named Dagny had an extravagant party that didn’t go over the top with spendings. Instead of going crazy with the decorations, his humans used the event to raise money for a good cause.

Thanks to Dagny’s special birthday, many other dogs without homes benefitted. He might not know it, but his party was a huge success for more than just him.

A Life-Changing Birthday Party

Erin Woodward wasn’t always a dog person, but her husband, Brandon, talked her into getting a dog. So, they brought home Dagny the Goldendoodle, who quickly stole Erin’s heart. For Dagny’s second birthday, they decided it was time to do something special not only for him but also for dogs in need.

Erin and Brandon own a company called Platinum Sculpt CoolSculpting, so they held a special birthday party outside one of the locations. They held raffles, played party games, and even advertised adoptable dogs. All the proceeds from the party went to the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society.

“We are avid pet lovers. My husband had to talk me into getting a Goldendoodle two years ago and now that Goldendoodle has a huge piece of my heart,” said Erin. “So, I’m so into my own dog and I realize so many other dogs have been displaced. They don’t have families. They need nourishment, love, that I just wanted to step up and do something creative for the humane society.”

Highly rated dog trainer, Larry Krohn, attended the event to work on training with some of the guests. He spent several hours helping aggressive and timid dogs feel more comfortable in the overwhelming situation.

All Dogs Benefit

Some of the adoptable dogs who were at the event have since gone off to their forever homes. The Woodwards ended up raising $1,100 for the shelter to care for more animals in need.

“Thank you Bowling Green for making Dagny’s Birthday Benefit a huge success. You helped so many creatures at the shelter. We love you with all our hearts!” Platinum Sculpt CoolSculpting wrote on Facebook.

Dagny’s birthday party was extra special, and he enjoyed every second of it. He might not know the amazing impact it had on other dogs, but he knew it was fun to get so much extra love and attention!
