Losing a dog is incredibly difficult, but every loss is easier when you have good friends to comfort you. Amid a pandemic, it’s harder for people to be there for each other during difficult times, but it’s not impossible. Sometimes, all we need to do is send a heartfelt message to let others know we’re there for them.
When Miranda Lambert had to say goodbye to her rescue dog named Waylon during the pandemic, coping with the loss was not easy. Even posting about him on Instagram was overly emotional for her. Luckily, she had lots of friends who were still there to support her during a difficult time.
Country Stars Show Sympathy For Lambert
After posting her tribute to Waylon on Instagram, Lambert received a lot of kind responses toward her and Waylon. Many of the responses were from other country singers, including Carrie Underwood, Ashley Monroe, Holly Williams, and Brittany Aldean (Jason Aldean’s wife).
“😢…sending lots of love and hugs,” wrote Carrie Underwood.
“Oh my holy heavens girl I am so so so sorry, losing a dog is incredibly painful. I miss my first Lab everyday. Praying for y’alls hearts ❤️😢” wrote Holly Williams.
“Big handsome boy, he took care of everybody so well for so long,” wrote Ashley Monroe.
“Nothing like the love of a dog😔 so sorry, girl💔 praying for y’all,” wrote Brittany Aldean.
“I’m so sorry! He was the sweetest puppy,” wrote Natalie Hemby.
“I’m so sorry!!!! I know how deep that heartache is! He’ll be waiting for you in heaven,” wrote Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town.
“Sorry buddy. I don’t wanna even think about losing our boy. Love to you all,” wrote Randy Houser.
Rest in Peace, Waylon
These kind messages aren’t enough to make the pain of Waylon’s loss go away fully, but at least they can help Lambert know that she’s not alone. Nearly every dog lover has had to say goodbye to a furry friend at some point in their life. No matter how many times you go through it, it never gets easier. But it always feels better knowing there are others that care deeply about you and your dog.
Lambert is known for being a huge dog lover. She has her own animal organization called MuttNation Foundation and she currently has at least 8 other dogs of her own to care for. However, even with room in her heart for all the dogs in the world, she will still miss Waylon deeply for the rest of her life.
Rest in peace, Waylon. You lived an amazing life that won’t be forgotten.
